Nalco Europe B.V. is the leading provider of integrated water treatment and process improvement services, chemicals and equipment programs for industrial and institutional applications. Nalco, responsible for 5% of Den Hartogh's turnover, has a substantial number of customers in the petro-chemical business.

The challenge Nalco was faced with, was to store and supply this industry in a more efficient way. Den Hartogh Logistics provided Nalco with a safe and cost-efficient solution: Product Containment Units.

 

Organizations in the petro-chemical industry use large quantities of chemicals on a daily basis. Therefore, storing these large quantities in safe, but small containers is highly inefficient, both in regards to storage capacity and in inventory management.

A Product Containment Unit (PCU) is placed under a container and serves solely as an overflow reservoir. The units prevent hazardous chemicals leaking into the ground. Furthermore, PCU's provide a more efficient method of storing large quantities of chemicals. If desired, Den Hartogh Logistics can completely take over the inventory management.

With their large storage capacity (35 m2), PCU's provide Nalco with the perfect balance between confirming to safety regulations while storing chemicals in a cost-efficient way.
