This year we will have 75 new gas tanks delivered. It is a balanced mix between tanks for compressed liquefied gases and cryogenic gases including new CO2 tanks. The development of our gas container business in the first half year of 2012 was very strong in relation to last year: we reached growth figures of over 50%! These figures are impressive, certainly when you take into account that 2011 was also a good year with regards to intermodal traffic.
We invested in a large fleet of 20 ft zinc coated tanks for R-gases ranging from 22 to 34 bar. We further expanded our fleet of 30 ft 42.000 liter tanks for aerosols and DME and reached a fleet of 80 units of this type. We expanded our cryogenic 20 ft ISO tanks suitable for world wide transport. Most of these tanks operate in global argon business. Our CO2 fleet was also strenghtened with new iso tanks. It adds to our existing fleet of CO2 trailers and swap bodies. Our new CO2 tanks are partly equipped with pump and flow. The demand for this type of equipement is so high that we put them in service straight from the manufactor.
All in all a steady development and it is promising to see that despite of a slowing economy the growth at Gas Logistics maintains. Our challenge is to further spread in the global activities without neglecting the interesting European markets. In Europe we can still add value via our network, our tailor made equipment and smart solutions for our customers. We work closely together with our new offices in Dubai, Singapore and Houston in order to infom (potential) customers about our smart solutions.
