At Royal Den Hartogh Logistics, going beyond standard logistics solutions is in our DNA. Our long-standing collaboration with the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) demonstrates how we add value by combining our logistics expertise with operational field support, providing fully integrated on-site logistics for the safe handling and disposal of Water natural gas condensate.
More Than Transport
NAM, a leading player in the Dutch oil and gas industry, needed a reliable partner to manage complex logistics flows for water natural gas condensate. This is a byproduct of the gas production and is a mix of Production water and natural gas condensate, this requires careful handling due to their hazardous nature and regulatory requirements.

Before the collaboration, NAM faced several risks related to allowing external contractors to perform technical operations on mining sites especially without direct oversight at all times. These sites come with specific safety hazards and fall under strict regulations from the Dutch Mining Act.
Moreover, our customer (NAM) needed more than just transport. The ideal solution would involve a partner capable of independently managing loading and unloading operations, operating on-site installations, and offering 24/7 flexibility, even on weekends and public holidays.
Den Hartogh’s approach combining specialised equipment, fully trained personnel, and flexible deployment. Our drivers are not just drivers, they’re trained operators to work on oil and gas production sites. They manage the entire cycle on their own, from connecting and disconnecting hoses to operating installation controls, ensuring both safety and efficiency at every step.
Key elements of the solution:
This operational model allowed NAM to fully outsource the process, reducing internal complexity and ensuring continuous gas production without operational downtime.

Since the start of the collaboration, which started in 2001, NAM has benefited from improved efficiency, increased operational flexibility, and reliable continuity in transport of their production fluids.
This partnership highlights Den Hartogh’s ability to deliver more than just transport, we deliver peace of mind through full-service logistics.
The energy sector is constantly changing, and we see a growing need for specialised logistics support in various regions across Europe. This includes not only oil and gas, but also newer developments like geothermal energy. With our proven approach, Den Hartogh is ready to assist more partners facing similar logistical challenges in European countries.
We believe the future of energy logistics lies in practical solutions, well-trained people and close cooperation, working towards partnerships, with our customers. These principles are already part of our everyday way of working.

Intermodal transport is the preferred way to move freight over longer distances.
It optimally combines various modes of transport.
This method has proven to be a safe, cost-effective, flexible and sustainable way to ensure that shipments are efficiently carried to their destinations.
