We celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Den Hartogh Lojistik Hizmetleri A.Ş, the Den Hartogh office in Istanbul, Turkey. Starting from scratch in 2009 we now have an established office serving customers all over the world with a wide range of logistics services.
A decade ago, Den Hartogh Logistics started its transformation from a Europe oriented company to a global logistics service provider, always looking for new opportunities and proactively responding to customer demands. In 2009 Den Hartogh established the Turkish entity in Ataşehir Istanbul with an own office & Den Hartogh employees. The same year building its first heating station and loaded storage depot in Izmir, which was soon followed by other heating stations in Gebze, Gemlik & Mersin in where tank containers can be stored and heated on ground.
Pieter den Hartogh, Group Managing Director of Den Hartogh Logistics: “With Turkey being an interesting growth market, it was a logical step to start offering our logistics services and establish our own office in Istanbul, the gateway from Europe to Asia and Saudi-Arabia. And it turned out to be the right decision; we have now built a solid base in the region and are able to support many customers with their logistics needs.
Establishing the office was not the first encounterment with Turkey by the way. A couple of years earlier a customer approached us with their struggle to find a reliable partner for tank cleaning in Turkey. Together with local company Alışan Group we set up a joint venture in 2005 and successfully built and exploited our first tank cleaning station in Gebze - Kocaeli. Although we started our own local company in 2009, we still work together with Alışan Group and our relationship is strong.”
Nowadays, Den Hartogh offers standard transport to specialised logistics services of bulk liquid chemicals and liquefied gases, stock management and heating or intermediate storage via one of our four heating stations and loaded storage depots. Den Hartogh was the very first company in Turkey that successfully completed the CDI-MPC TCO audit in 2018 and was awarded for domestic isocyanate distribution in 2019.
